Breakfast and brunch restaurant OliBea will close its doors June 22.

The Old City restaurant opened in 2014 at 119 S. Central St. Since then, it has moved to 211 S. Central St. and survived the COVID-19 pandemic.

Owner Jeffrey Dealejandro took to social media last week to announce the closing.

"It’s hard to believe that I have now been a part of the downtown food scene for over 15 years, but now it’s time for my fresh start. If you know me, you know that my family means everything to me. It’s time for me to pour more into my family, so I have decided to close OliBea for now," the post reads.

The post states that Dealejandro will be taking a role with the Courtland Group Development and Real Estate, so he'll still be downtown, just not in the kitchen.

"Thank you Knoxville," the post reads. "Thank you to my Olibea family who has been such an important part of our success. Big shout out to Alan Hernandez, I love you!"

One last chance for an OliBea biscuit

The restaurant will be open through June 22 for "one last OliBea biscuit" and to use up any gift cards people have.

Dealejandro opened the restaurant, which was named after his kids, while working at The Crown and Goose. He locally sourced ingredients for OliBea to make it as fresh as possible. He also opened Hen+Hoc Deli & Butcher, but that closed in 2022. Now be prepared for OliBea to serve its last meal.
