One Tree Hill Sequel Series in Development at Netflix — Who’s Returning?
“Siri, play ‘I Don’t Want to Be’ by Gavin DeGraw.”
A One Tree Hill sequel series is in development at Netflix, TVLine has learned. Original series stars Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton are set to executive-produce and reprise their breakout roles as Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer, respectively. The potential follow-up will pick up 20 years later and follow Brooke and Peyton as they parent teenagers of their own.

According to our sister site Deadline, Chad Michael Murray is not expected to reprise his part as Lucas Scott.
The revival, which hails from writer Becky Hartman Edwards (Switched at Birth, The Bold Type, Firefly Lane) and Warner Bros. TV, also counts Jensen and Danneel Ackles as EPs. (Per Deadline, the latter remains in talks to return as Rachel Gatina.) Emily Moss Wilson (A Christmas Wish) is a producer.
Reps for WBTV declined to comment. (TVLine has also reached out to Netflix for comment.)
The original OTH premiered in 2003 and ran for nine seasons, across The WB and The CW, before ending in 2012; all episodes are currently streaming on Hulu and Max. In addition to Bush, Burton and Murray, the ensemble featured James Lafferty (as Nathan Scott), Bethany Joy Lenz (as Haley James Scott), Paul Johansson (as Dan Scott), Lee Norris (as Marvin “Mouth” McFadden) and Antwon Tanner (as “Antwon “Skills” Taylor). Late-in-run cast additions included Robert Buckley (as Clay Evans), Shantel VanSanten (as Quinn James), and Jana Kramer (as Alex Dupre).
Bush and Burton, along with Lenz, launched the popular rewatch podcast Drama Queens in 2021. Buckley came on board as a new co-host in July.
