The one word that Rachel Bloom had to fight to say on ‘Crazy Ex-Girlfriend’
The star and co-creator of the CW show Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, Rachel Bloom, hopes to be the first person to say a part of female anatomy on a live-action network television show. She visited The Late Late Show with James Corden and explained, “We have a storyline coming up about, basically a man has realized that he has never… that he doesn’t give his wife orgasms. … And we wanted to say a part of the female anatomy that we realized in doing research I don’t think has ever been said on live-action network television before.”
After many conversations with CW standards and practices, she was given the approval to say the word “clitoris” on the show.
However, James Corden joked that just by her explaining that she would say “clitoris,” The Late Late Show might have been the first show to on which someone has uttered the phrase. The word has been said on late night shows before, but that didn’t stop Corden from trying to steal a little bit of Bloom’s thunder.
