Oprah to Sit Down With Riley Keough in ‘The Presleys’ Special Interview at Graceland
Oprah Winfrey’s trip to the historic Graceland property will serve as the backdrop to her interview with Elvis Presley’s granddaughter, Riley Keough, in the upcoming program An Oprah Special: The Presleys – Elvis, Lisa Marie And Riley. Premiering Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. on CBS and Paramount+, the special interview will arrive in tandem with the release of From Here to the Great Unknown, the memoir Keough co-wrote using recordings from her late mother, Lisa Marie Presley.
Winfrey toured Graceland and sat with Keough, who has yet to speak at length about the death of Lisa Marie, who was Elvis’ only child. She died in January 2023 from complications of a small bowel obstruction. Lisa Marie had spent an extensive amount of time banking audio recordings about her life to later be used in her memoir. Selections from those sessions will be featured in the CBS special, per The Hollywood Reporter. Previously unseen family photos and videos will also be featured.

In late 2022, Lisa Marie recruited Keough to assist in completing her memoir. She died a month later, but her daughter made a point of getting From Here to the Great Unknown across the finish line. “Riley knew she had to fulfill her mother’s wish to reveal these memories, incandescent and painful, to the world,” a description of the book read.
It continued: “Riley got the tapes that her mother had recorded for the book, laid in her bed, and listened as Lisa Marie told story after story about smashing golf carts together in the yards of Graceland, about the unconditional love she felt from her father, about being upstairs, just the two of them. About getting dragged screaming out of the bathroom as she ran towards his body on the floor. About living in Los Angeles with her mother, getting sent to school after school, always kicked out, always in trouble. About her singular, lifelong relationship with Danny Keough, about being married to Michael Jackson, what they shared in common. About motherhood. About deep addiction. About ever-present grief.”
Depending on when Winfrey made her trip to Graceland — and if legal parameters would have allowed for it — the special may also feature insight into Keough’s settlement with her grandmother Priscilla Presley in 2023 and the more recent charging of a woman accused of orchestrating “an alleged scheme to defraud Elvis Presley’s family of millions of dollars and steal the family’s ownership interest in Graceland,” according to The U.S. Department of Justice.
