"Part of the whole mystery … is not knowing quite what happened to him, but you have a pretty good idea that he isn’t alive. Now we see the process of the alien character taking over your life, basically. He was gonna be put in an egg. You don’t get into all of that when you know the [ship] is gonna blow up in a few seconds. You gotta get the hell out of there.
