Orville Peck's annual 'Rodeo' festival is coming to Nashville in August
Believe it or not, Nashville needed another festival.
Especially if it's Orville Peck's trio of "Rodeo" events coming to Music City from Aug. 23-25, 2024.
Country Music Hall of Famer Tanya Tucker, director John Waters, singer-songwriter Medium Build, North Carolina-based rock band The Nude Party, plus country performers Mickey Guyton and Reyna Roberts are among the talents listed for a kickoff party at Basement East on Aug. 23, a takeover of Nashville's Ascend Amphitheater on Aug. 24 and a closing party at Brooklyn Bowl on Aug. 25.
3-day Tickets, single-day tickets and VIP packages for the weekend will be available starting June 10 at 10 a.m. local time. The general on-sale begins June 12th at 10 a.m. local time. More information on tickets and VIP packages can be found at Ticketmaster.com.
The announcement follows Peck's May release of his latest EP, "Stampede, Vol 1," featuring Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Elton John and Willie Nelson, plus modern-era favorites Midland and Allison Russell.
2023's event occurred in Pioneertown, a rural, turn-of-the-20th-century, Western-themed town in San Bernardino County, California. Scene Point Blank, a California-based blog, noted that skateboarding, tattoo pop-ups, drag brunches, and an LGBTQ-friendly rodeo club were part of an event featuring artists including Margo Price, Noah Cyrus, Teddy & the Rough Riders, Dale Hollow and drag queen Trixie Mattel alongside Peck.
The performer, recently honored with the Vito Russo Award at the 35th GLAAD Media Awards in New York City, has embarked on a tour featuring four dozen dates nationwide between May and November.
