Oscars 2024 live updates: ‘Oppenheimer’ wins best-picture Oscar, stunned Emma Stone takes best actress for ‘Poor Things’
“Oppenheimer” was the night’s big winner at the Oscars, taking home the gold for best picture, best director (Christopher Nolan), best actor (Cillian Murphy), best supporting actor (Robert Downey Jr.) and several more.
Emma Stone looked absolutely stunned to win best actress for “Poor Things,” and as the now two-time Oscar winner suffered a wardrobe malfunction on her way to the stage, she joked that “it happened during ‘I’m Just Ken’ ” — Ryan Gosling’s sparkly, pink, perfect performance of the “Barbie” song, that came complete with karaoke.
Oh, and an almost entirely naked John Cena was there too.
Jimmy Kimmel returned to host the 96th Academy Awards on Sunday, March 10, at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, the funnyman’s fourth stint as the ceremony’s emcee.
Catch up on all the winners, performances and every can’t-miss moment with our Film Critic Johnny Oleksinski, TV Critic Michael Starr, Music Critic Chuck Arnold and Entertainment Reporter Jack Hobbs.
