This year marks 96 years of celebrating the Oscars, and the categories for 2024 will likely be heavily stacked once the nominations are announced.

Will Cillian Murphy sweep another best actor award from Bradley Cooper? Can "Spiderman: Into the Spiderverse" take the Animated Feature Film category from "The Boy and the Heron"? You'll have to wait a little longer to find out.

When are the Oscars 2024?

The 96th Oscars will air at 5 p.m. Arizona time on Sunday, March 10.

As per usual, the Oscars will air live on ABC.

Who is hosting the Oscars in 2024?

Late-night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel is returning for the fourth time to host the Academy Awards.

Kimmel is the host and executive producer of ABC's "Jimmy Kimmel Live" and has emceed the Oscars in 2023, 2018 and 2017.

2024 Oscars predictions

This was truly a magical year for film with the explosively pink "Barbenheimer" summer double blockbuster, several impressive biopics and closing out the year with a couple of big musicals.

While the nominees haven't been announced yet, Entertainment Weekly did put out a list of the top contenders in every category, including Best Picture, Director, Actor, Actress and the rest.

What time is the Oscar nominations?

Plenty of publications, podcasts and movie lovers have declared their predictions over the last few weeks. And now, finally, it's time to find out the official nominees.

The Oscar nominee list hit social media earlier this morning. To no one's surprise, "Oppenheimer" and "Poor Things" are leading the pack with 13 and 11 nominations each, respectively.

Do the Golden Globes predict the Oscars?

The Golden Globes gives awards in television and film categories. While they don't directly influence the Emmys and Oscars, according to The Economic Times, "their impact can significantly bolster campaigns at a pivotal moment."

Who is nominated for a 2024 Oscar?

As predicted, Christopher Nolan's biopic "Oppenheimer" scored 13 nominations at this year's Academy Awards that includes best actor for Cillian Murphy, supporting actor for Robert Downey Jr. and supporting actress for Emily Blunt.

Meanwhile, "Poor Things" came in hot on the heels of "Oppenheimer" with 11 noms and "Killers of the Flower Moon" snagged 10. All three will go head-to-head for the "Best Picture" award along with "Barbie," "The Holdovers," "Past Lives," "American Fiction," "Maestro," "Anatomy of a Fall" and "The Zone of Interest."
