Owen and Luke Wilson Stopped at Jack in the Box Halfway Through Running a Marathon
Owen Wilson stopped by The Late Late Show, and the fact that he was sitting next to the fastest man in the world, Usain Bolt, led host James Corden to ask Wilson about his own running prowess. As it turns out, Wilson and his brother Luke had attempted to run the L.A. marathon when they were new to the city. They’d heard it was coming up and thought it would be a good way to get to know their new home.
Besides the fact that they didn’t train at all, they had a “big Friday night,” then ran the marathon on Sunday. Wilson said that at mile 13 of the 26.2, they stopped at a Jack in the Box, where he ate a double cheeseburger and curly fries before rejoining the other runners.
Between not training, a big Friday night, and fast food halfway through the marathon, it may sound like a recipe for disaster, but they were able to make it a little bit farther.
“At about mile 19, Luke’s knees were turning blue. And then we got picked up at mile 21 by some medics. So we didn’t finish, but we did see a lot of the city,” said Wilson.
