Owen Wilson Quizzes LOKI Costars on the Trickster God’s Lines
We’re two episodes deep into Loki, and increasingly confounded by the nature of time and space in the Marvel Universe. But what’s even more mysterious than the series’ explanations about shifting and fraying timelines is its mad antihero himself. Loki’s diabolically unpredictable nature has already proven frustrating to Mobius M. Mobius. Worse yet, it nearly gets the better of the cast in a new promotional video released by Marvel Entertainment. Owen Wilson quizzes his Loki costars Tom Hiddleston, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, and Wunmi Mosaku on would-be Loki quotes. Which of these epithets did the trickster god once bellow, and which were spoken by other Marvel characters?
As you can see, it’s not always crystal clear. Between Thor, Thanos, Hela, and Judge Ravonna Renslayer, lots of characters in the MCU tend to spout fatalistic lines. But the Loki stars proved themselves no slouches, answering most of the questions correctly. (The trick seems to be that Loki’s usually tend to have an air of arrogance to them.)
On the series, Mbatha-Raw plays the aforementioned Renslayer, a new twist on a character established in the Marvel Comics. In the second episode of Loki, we get a taste of Renslayer and Mobius’ rapport, which seems to comprise mutual respect and agitation. On the series, Mosaku goes simply by Hunter B-15; she’s a consistently serious officer of the TVA who has little patience for Loki’s antics.

As Loki carries forth, we’re bound to see the character deliver some memorable barbs. We’re also looking forward to see more exciting developments with Renslayer and Hunter B-15. So far, Loki and Mobius have dominated the spotlight. But we can expect (and hope) that Mbatha-Raw and Mosaku’s characters get the chance to shine.
New episodes of Loki hit Disney+ at midnight PT/3 a.m. ET every Wednesday. (That’s technical Wednesdays; spiritual Tuesday nights.)
