Padma Lakshmi dances around in a negligee in TikTok video: 'This took precisely 29 takes'
Padma Lakshmi has moves beyond the kitchen.
The Top Chef host, 49, put her dance skills on display in a TikTok video she recorded in her bathroom during coronavirus quarantine. She grooved to two songs in a satin green negligee with lace trim, saying she had been styled by her 10-year-old daughter.
“This took precisely 29 takes,” the foodie admitted of the video, which sees her doing a sultry dance, first to Fleetwood Mac’s “Dreams” and then to Doja Cat’s “Candy.”
Lakshmi said her daughter Krishna “painstakingly” taught her the dance “on the 18th day of the quarantine.” She added that the “video concept & wardrobe choice” were by Krishna while she made the music selections.
She then re-shared Jack Black’s viral TikTok, in which he went shirtless, dancing in a cowboy hat and boots, with “Dreams” playing instead. She said she highly recommends putting the 1977 song over every TikTok.

This is the first video of its kind by Lakshmi, who had a lot of admirers in the comments thanks to her bathroom booty shaking. (For example, “Is there something in life you don’t do well?!”) Her coronavirus quarantine content has largely been cooking videos (mmm, Indian), sometimes with Krishna (see: “cooking with kids” edition). Other videos show her making the most of her time with her only child.
