Pamela Anderson seemingly responds to ex Jon Peters's claim he paid $200K of her debt during 2-week marriage: 'Lies'
Pamela Anderson is tweeting about people “spreading lies” amid her split from fourth husband Jon Peters.
The 52-year-old pinup and activist, whose marriage ended after 12 days, posted — then deleted — a poem on Twitter that appears to be addressing the headline-making drama.
She wrote:
“It’s hard
to know what to do
when people start spreading lies
in the press ..
the damage
is done -
I hope people understand
where it’s coming from -
I don’t want
to have to defend myself
it only draws more attention -
feeding the problem - #ego.”
Her poetry seems to be a not-so-veiled reply to Peters, a celebrity hairstylist turned film producer, claiming to Page Six that he paid “broke” Anderson’s debts — in the range of $200,000 — during the brief time they were in their not-legally binding marriage. He also said he was engaged to someone else when Anderson reached out to rekindle their relationship — and he made a point to say that Anderson proposed to him and not the other way around.
“I dropped everything for Pam,” Peters, 74, told the New York Post’s gossip site. “She had almost $200,000 in bills and no way to pay it so I paid it and this is the thanks I get. There’s no fool like an old fool.’’
Peters went on to slam an Anderson source who claimed she found him “controlling” during their brief marriage.
“If she meant controlling — I’ve paid … [her] bills since she was broke,” Peters said. “I bought her a completely new wardrobe.”
Peters also has issues with Anderson being associated with Jasmin, which has been described as a “lifestyle destination rooted in sex-positivity.”
“Since I have worked my whole life to try to make something for myself, that was very concerning to me,’’ he said of the Playboy cover model being tied to the website.
A rep for Anderson responded to Peters’s comments to Page Six story, saying, “These claims are not only entirely fabricated, they are ludicrous... Despite Mr. Peters’ efforts to elicit a response from Ms. Anderson, she has no comment to provide and wishes him well.”
Peters told Page Six he initially when Anderson, whom he first dated 30 years ago, “texted me that she wanted to get married, it was kind of a dream come true — even though I was engaged to someone else and the lady was moving in.”
But their happiness was short-lived. While they had a wedding ceremony Jan. 20 in Malibu, just 12 days later they said they were taking time apart. There is no divorce as the marriage was never legalized.
Peters provided the email he wrote to Anderson breaking up with her to Page Six. In the “Dear Pammy” letter, Peters wrote, “at 74, i need a simple quiet life and not an international love affair.”
He went on to say he had an issue with traveling back and forth to her native Canada. He said he preferred to be home near his kids — and made the point to say that those kids would one day be the beneficiaries of his estate, implying Anderson wouldn’t be getting his fortune.
The odd breakup email also saw Peters say he still wants to cast Anderson in a movie project he’s working on.
Anderson’s reply to the breakup email? A face-throwing-a-kiss emoji and “I forgive you.”
Though she certainly seems less forgiving now.
