Paris attacks: Stephen Colbert sends his thoughts and prayers in Late Show clip

Following the attacks in Paris on Friday night, Stephen Colbert expressed his thoughts and prayers for the victims in a message at the end of The Late Show.

“Folks, we end tonight’s show with a heavy heart because we taped all of tonight’s show and then we found out about the horrific attacks in Paris today,” he began. “I know that not much is known right now. We do know there have been many deaths. The crisis is still ongoing.”

“President Hollande has declared a state of emergency and President Obama has promised the United States will do whatever it takes to bring those terrorists to justice. We add our thoughts and prayers to everyone in Paris and now, we’ll see you on Monday,” he continued, taking a deep breath. “Goodnight.” 

At least 127 people were killed in Paris on Friday night after a series of coordinated attacks throughout the city, including one at the Bataclan music venue. President Obama addressed the tragedy, calling it not just an attack on Paris, but “an attack of all of humanity.”
