Paris Jackson Insists 'There's No Meltdown' After Seeking Treatment for Mental Health
Paris Jackson is setting the record straight about her mental health.
In a series of tweets on Saturday, the 20-year-old daughter of the late King of Pop shot back at speculation about her wellbeing, insisting “there’s no meltdown, no ‘losing [my] s—,’ or being demanding of anyone.’ “
Her message came days after Jackson was spotted strolling through West Hollywood, California, with beau Gabriel Glenn on Tuesday — and over two weeks after Jackson checked herself into a treatment facility to improve her “emotional health.”
“Please don’t believe what you read,” she shared via Twitter on Saturday. “Just because I was spotted grabbing coffee in LA after taking a nice long break from the chaotic media for some reason makes ‘journalists’ think they can run wild with my name.”
“I said it before and I’ll say it again,” she added. “I’m the happiest and healthiest I’ve been in a long time.”

Jackson sought treatment to improve her “emotional health” in January.
“After a busy year of work engagements that took her all over the globe, Paris decided that she needed to take some time off to reboot, realign and prioritize her physical and emotional health,” a source close to the star told PEOPLE on Jan. 15.
“She checked herself into a treatment facility to aid in her wellness plan and is looking forward to coming out of this revitalized and ready to tackle the exciting new projects that await her,” the insider explained.
A day following PEOPLE’s report, Jackson herself confirmed the news.
“Yes I’ve taken a break from work and social media and my phone because it can be too much sometimes, and everyone deserves a break, but I am happy and healthy and feeling better than ever!” she wrote on Instagram, alongside a selfie of herself with a dog.

Through the years, Paris has been open about her battle with depression and anxiety.
In 2013, Paris was hospitalized after attempting suicide. Paris later admitted she attempted suicide a number of times during an interview with Rolling Stone in 2017.
“I was crazy. I was actually crazy. I was going through a lot of, like teen, angst. And I was also dealing with my depression and my anxiety without any help,” Jackson told the outlet.
“It was just self-hatred,” she said of taking 20 Motrin tablets and slashing her wrist in June 2013 at age 15. “Low self-esteem, thinking that I couldn’t do anything right, not thinking I was worthy of living anymore.”
The incident proved to be the turning point following a long battle with self-abuse, drug addiction and depression. Paris admitted that she had attempted suicide “multiple times” before, but this final episode convinced her to attend a residential therapy program.
Adding to her depression and inner turmoil, Paris says that she was sexually assaulted by a significantly older “complete stranger” when she was a teen. “I don’t wanna give too many details. But it was not a good experience at all, and it was really hard for me, and, at the time, I didn’t tell anybody,” Paris told Rolling Stone.

On Tuesday, Jackson showed off some new tattoos honoring Led Zeppelin. Via Twitter and her Instagram story, Jackson posted a picture of the back of her right arm with four symbols honoring the legendary rock band’s untitled fourth album. They are Jimmy Page’s “Zoso,” John Paul Jones’ circle, Robert Plant’s feather and John Bonham’s trinity.
Alongside the image of her new tats, which adds to her collection of more than 50, the star wrote, “was planning for a few months on just getting zoso but then i said f— it and…”
