Pat McAfee Makes a Bold Declaration About Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's Relationship
Pat McAfee made a bold declaration about Travis Kelce’s relationship with pop star Taylor Swift last week while addressing what he viewed as a telltale moment during a ceremony celebrating the Kansas City Chiefs’ Super Bowl LVIII win.
On Thursday, June 15, the 2024 Super Bowl champions attended a special event to receive their official Super Bowl rings. Though Swift, 34, did not join Kelce, also 34, due to her touring schedule, eagle-eyed fans noticed that she did have a virtual presence.
Chariah Gordon, the girlfriend of Chiefs wide receiver Mecole Hardman, went live on Instagram to share moments of the event with her friends and social media followers. The “Cruel Summer” songstress was among those who tuned in, as evident by the comments she posted in the live chat.
On Friday, June 14, McAfee noted while hosting The Pat McAfee Show that the timing of the ceremony in Kansas City meant that the 14-time Grammy Award winner was tuning in during the early morning hours after performing one of her Eras Tour shows in Liverpool, England.

"Taylor Swift joined Mecole Hardman’s lady’s Instagram Live and was just commenting at like 4 a.m. in Liverpool after the show, wanted to be a part of it all,” McAfee said. “Because she was. Taylor: Congrats on your first Super Bowl.”
The sports analyst suggested a Super Bowl ring “should” have been sent to her in Liverpool “because of the aura that she brought into the entire thing.”
“But her being this dedicated after a show in Liverpool to the entire thing makes me believe, hey. We’re talking real love. Invested. Full-on investment,” he said, later adding, “We got love!”
The former NFL player has commented on Swift’s romance with the Chiefs tight end multiple times since they took their relationship public last fall. After they were first spotted together in public, McAfee declared they were “in actual love” and later said he felt “so happy” for Kelce.
While speaking about the power couple during his Friday show, McAfee said having “two greats being this in love” is “good for society.”
“There’s going to be some haters out there for sure, but if we’re hearing more, like, ‘So High School’ songs about love and happiness, that’s good for the world,” McAfee said.
