Patrick Mahomes Makes Bold Comparison Between Working With Travis Kelce and Talking to His Toddler

Apparently Patrick Mahomes sometimes feels like he's still in dad mode when it comes to working with teammate Travis Kelce.

The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback recently made a bold declaration about playing on the field with Kelce, 35, whom he compared to his and wife Brittany Mahomes' 3-year-old daughter, Sterling Skye.

While debriefing after the Chiefs' victory over the New Orleans Saints on Monday, Oct. 7, Mahomes, 29, joked about one moment in the game, when Kelce decided to take a play into his own hands.

"I told [Kelce] before the play, 'I'm gonna throw it to you,' so we could get into field goal range, and he underhand shoveled it across the entire field," Mahomes said in a post-game press conference, before quipping, "It’s like I’m talking to Sterling."

Sterling is Mahomes' firstborn child, followed by his second, son Patrick "Bronze' Lavon Mahomes III. He and his wife are currently expecting their third child together, a baby girl who will officially make them a family of five.

During Tuesday's press conference, after Mahomes got a chuckle out of the reporters in the room over the lighthearted diss toward Kelce, he said, "That's Travis, man,"

"He's a special player and as long as he does anything that works, man, no one's gonna say anything," he added about his friend and teammate.

Monday night's win marked the Chiefs' fifth consecutive win since the season began, rendering the team undefeated so far this season.

Since the Chiefs have a bye next week, their next game will be on Oct. 20, when they face off against the San Francisco 49ers, who they beat in last year's Super Bowl LVIII.
