Patti LaBelle to headline Southern Heritage Classic Concert at Orpheum

R&B queen Patti LaBelle will headline the annual Classic Concert in Memphis this year.

The show — part of the festivities for the annual Southern Heritage Classic — will take place Sept. 12 at Downtown’s Orpheum Theatre. Tickets for the show go on sale at 10 a.m. Friday at all Ticketmaster outlets and Ticketmaster.com.

LaBelle, who scored her first hit in 1962 as singer of the Bluebelles, continues to wow audiences, even as she approaches age 80. The 13-time Grammy nominee, bestselling author, entrepreneur and lifestyle brand mogul, with her Patti’s Good Life, will be the featured act on the Sept. 12 Orpheum bill, which will be hosted by comedian Jammin’ Jay Lamont.
