Patti LaBelle Hits High Notes in Libertine Lace Coat, DJ Cassidy Shines in Blue Suit for Viral Roll Call and More 2024 Democratic National Convention Performance Looks
The second night of the Democratic National Convention featured former First Lady Michelle Obama in a Monse crisscross jacket, Ella Emhoff wearing a Thom Browne suit and Ana Navarro in a Safiyaa shoulder dress. But they weren’t the only ones bringing the fashion to the event, which is being held in Chicago through Thursday.
Patti LaBelle, Common, DJ Cassidy and Lil Jon performed during the convention and showcased their unique style while endorsing Vice President Kamala Harris’ presidential candidacy. Here, WWD takes a closer look at their outfits.

Patti LaBelle
LaBelle, who performed her song “You Are My Friend” during an in memoriam segment, wore a Libertine pocket coat with Venetian lace details throughout. She paired it with black trousers and leather pumps.
Lil Jon
Lil Jon, who made a surprise appearance during the roll call votes to represent Georgia, embraced tailoring in a sartorial blue vest with matching trousers. He added extra sparkle with diamond chain necklace and bracelet.
Common
Common, who performed a mash-up of “Fortunate” and “God Is Good” alongside Jonathan McReynolds, wore an olive green suit featuring a wrap blazer with a secure button fastening. He completed his look with leather loafers.
DJ Cassidy
DJ Cassidy, who led the roll call, wore a blue suit with a double-breasted blazer. He completed his look with a fedora and crystal-covered jewelry.
Harris kicked off the Democratic National Convention on Monday. Approximately 5,000 delegates are expected to attend the four-day event, with guests including former U.S. President Bill Clinton and President Joe Biden.
