Paul Sr. and Paul Jr. share emotional reconciliation on 'American Chopper'
On the new American Chopper, Paul Teutul Sr. visited Paul Teutul Jr. after years of silence. The two worked together from 1999 until 2009, when junior was fired from the family’s motorcycle shop, Orange County Choppers.
Paul Sr. admitted to having communication problems with his son, but he hoped to avoid having a relationship with him like the one he had with his father. An emotional Paul Sr. opened up about his father, saying, “We fought all the time, could never say two words to each other. You know, the only time that I got to talk to him was when he was on his deathbed.”
Paul Jr. seemed glad that his dad was talking. “We can make up for lost time,” he said. “That’s what I think. Let’s have fun now, while we’re still young enough to be able to enjoy each other’s company.”
The father and son both said they love each other. Paul Jr. admitted later, “For him to come down here and open up like that — he doesn’t have to tell me that he wants a relationship. I know he does by his actions.”
American Chopper airs Mondays at 10 p.m. on Discovery.
