Paulina Porizkova celebrates her birthday with gold bikini photo: 'Hey, I’m a good 55-year-old!'
Paulina Porizkova may be celebrating her 55th birthday in lockdown, but that isn’t stopping the supermodel from reflecting on better days.
The Czech-born beauty marked her April 9 birthday — her first since the death in September of estranged husband Ric Ocasek — by sharing a photo taken from her trip to Costa Rica less than two months ago. The photo shows the mother of two grown sons showing off her toned figure in a flashy gold bikini.

In her caption, the Her Alibi star told fans that she was using her time in quarantine to go through old memories and take a moment to appreciate her looks. Despite gracing countless magazine covers, the former Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue model admitted that she’d never really been happy with her appearance. She’s now determined to change that attitude.
“I’m now 55, and I have gone through half a lifetime only liking the way I look in retrospect,” Porizkova shared. “I look at old photos and realize how good I had it. So today, I am looking at myself (in an admittedly flattering photo) and think, ‘Hey, I’m a good 55-year-old!’ I will feel pretty today. And endlessly grateful for all the gifts life has bestowed on me thus far. They’ve been many. Quarantine is a great time to sift through them all.”
Her post earned raves from followers, including fellow supermodel icon Christie Brinkley. And when one fan asked the birthday girl how she stays in shape, Porizkova shared her secret: “Lots of exercise. After this quarantine thing I’m gonna have a hell of a time gluing it all back.”
The gold bikini post comes just weeks after Porizkova shared a topless snapshot from her Costa Rica trip.
