Pearl Jam has been forced to cancel several dates on their ongoing UK/European tour due to an illness in the band.
The Seattle rockers initially canceled a show scheduled in London, UK on Saturday, June 29th. Now, dates set to take place in Berlin, Germany on July 2nd and 3rd have also been called off.
“Despite everyone’s best efforts, the band has yet to make a full recovery,” Pearl Jam said in a statement. “The impacts of this decision are not lost on us. We feel deeply that so many people spend their time, money, and emotional energy to get tickets and then to come see the band and it is heart-wrenching to have to disappoint you. We also appreciate the many people whose hard work goes into making these shows happen.”
While the statement did not specify the illness, Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder sounded hoarse during the band’s concert in Manchester on June 25th and told the crowd that he had gotten sick after high-fiving the crowd in Dublin.
As of now, Pearl Jam’s next scheduled tour date is in Barcelona on July 6th.
In August, Pearl Jam will kick off their next leg of US tour dates (get tickets here).
