Eddie Vedder and his daughter, Harper, are fans of Taylor Swift.

Pearl Jam headlined the opening and closing nights of the 2024 Ohana Fest at Doheny State Beach in Dana Point, California, on Sept. 27 and 29 — and the band's 59-year-old lead singer, who curates the festival, brought out his 16-year-old daughter to perform Swift's 2008 Fearless track during the second set.

Before the sweet father-daughter moment, Eddie expressed admiration for the festival's lineup as well as special guest Andrew Watt. "But I realized it’d been a while since we had a powerful young woman up on stage with us, so my pal Harper here is gonna help me out," he told the audience, according to fan-filmed footage shared on social media.

While playing acoustic guitar, Eddie first launched into a verse of Pearl Jam's 1999 track "Last Kiss" before Harper began singing Swift's "The Best Day," an especially sweet song to perform alongside her father. They alternated between the two songs throughout the performance, and the audience loved every second.

"I'm five years old, it's gettin' cold, I've got my big coat on / I hear your laugh and look up smilin' at you, I run and run," sang Harper during the first verse of the song about parental relationships.

Eddie attended Swift’s Eras Tour with wife Jill and daughters Olivia and Harper last summer, and he praised the "Blank Space" singer's artistry in a May interview on Bill Simmons’ self-titled podcast alongside Pearl Jam bandmate Jeff Ament.

“She's an artist who's respectful of her audience and I know from my daughter that she's really kind of incredible at planting these little … hidden codes that they can pick up,” said Eddie. “And then all of a sudden, it activates all those people that are listening, and has them involved in it.

“I think it's done in a very creative way — she changes it up and there's talk about what she played that night,” he added.

Eddie explained the “other thing that she has working so well for her” is the amount of music Swift is able to release.

“She's incredibly prolific,” he said. “So she’s able to just keep putting out music and putting out music.”

Pearl Jam will perform a series of Oceania concerts throughout November.
