‘The Penguin’: Max Says It Landed Biggest 4-Day Audience For A New Series In Every Region Globally
The debut of The Penguin captured fans worldwide — at least, that’s what Max is saying.
The streamer says the new Colin Farrell series landed the biggest 4-day audience for a new series on Max in every region globally, since The Last of Us in Jan 2023.
More from Deadline
In the U.S., the series debut of the HBO Original averaged 5.3 million cross platform U.S. viewers over its weekend debut. The Matt Reeves series dropped first on Max before premiering Sunday on HBO.
That ranks above the fourth and final season premiere of Succession, which averaged 4.9 million viewers, and above the second season premiere of The White Lotus (4.1 million).
The Penguin debut was just below the fourth season premiere of True Detective: Night Country, which averaged 5.7 million.
The series launch also boosted interest in The Batman movie on Max; the streamer says the 2022 Robert Pattinson flick reached 3.5x more accounts than previous weeks.
