Mexican star Peso Pluma coming to Milwaukee’s Fiserv Forum, 8 months after postponing concert

Third time might be the charm for patient Peso Pluma fans in Milwaukee.

On Tuesday, the breakout regional Mexican star announced a Fiserv Forum stop for his new “Exodo” tour on May 30 — eight months after he initially planned to play the Milwaukee Bucks arena.

That original show, initially set for Sept. 18, and a few others were postponed. The Arizona Republic reported prior to the postponements that Pluma had received a death threat allegedly from the Jalisco New Generation Cartel over a concert scheduled for Oct. 14 at Caliente Stadium in Tijuana.

Peso Pluma will perform at Fiserv Forum May 30, eight months after he was supposed to make his Milwaukee debut at the arena.

Pluma has referenced the Sinaloa Cartel, the main rival of the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, in songs like “GAVILáN II,” a narcocorrido from his blockbuster 2023 album “Genesis.” Narcocorridos are songs whose stories are related to drug dealers, a long-established tradition in regional Mexican music. Pluma ultimately canceled the Tijuana show.

The Milwaukee show was rescheduled to Nov. 4, then postponed again with no explanation. According to an email issued to ticketholders Tuesday, previously purchased tickets will be honored at the May 30 concert. Refunds for those unable to make the new date can be requested through the point of purchase through March 21.

Additional tickets go on sale at noon Friday at the box office (1111 N. Phillips Ave.) and fiservforum.com, with presales for Citi cardholders beginning at noon Wednesday at citientertainment.com. Prices have yet to be announced.
