EXCLUSIVE: Peter Dinklage is set to join Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst in the Miramax true crime pic Roofman, which Derek Cianfrance is writing and directing. Miramax recently came on to handle domestic and international distribution rights.

The film is based on the true story of Jeffrey Manchester, an inmate on the run who hides in a place no one would look for him: a toy store. When this paradise of fun becomes a prison of loneliness, he falls for the one thing that can stop him from getting away … love.

Cianfrance’s longtime collaborators Jamie Patricof of Hunting Lane and Lynette Howell Taylor of 51 Entertainment will produce alongside Alex Orlovsky and Duncan Montgomery for High Frequency Entertainment and Dylan Sellers for Limelight.

Tatum, Cianfrance and Jonathan Montepare will exec produce as will Limelight’s Chris Parker. Miramax’s Jonathan Glickman, Becky Sloviter and Thom Zadra will also exec produce as will High Frequency’s Jack Selby, Sam Romano and Rick Covert. Charles Barsamian is also an executive producer.

Paramount is set to distribute in select territories including the U.S. FilmNation Entertainment is handling international sales, and Aperture Media Partners financed.

Dinklage was most recently seen in the Amazon MGM Studios comedy Brothers opposite Josh Brolin and Brendan Fraser. He also was recently seen in the Tubi pic The Thicket and is set to voice Professor Dillamond in Universal’s Wicked adaptation which bows next month.
