Peyton Manning Dodges Retirement Questions Better Than Defensive Linemen

Superfan

At the conclusion of Super Bowl 50, there seemed to be just one question on everybody’s mind: Would Peyton Manning retire? How long did people wait before asking the 5 time MVP about his future? Roughly two minutes, as it was one of the first questions asked during the post-game interview immediately following the Denver Bronco’s win over the Carolina Panthers.

The questions did not stop for Manning during interviews on both Today and CBS This Morning. While Matt Lauer attempted to get creative with the question, phrasing it as to whether he was looking forward to training camp next season, Manning gracefully side-stepped the query and focused on the excitement of winning a Super Bowl. Manning referenced his former Indianapolis Colts head coach Tony Dungy when talking about the state of his career. “Take some time, get away with your family, reflect on what’s occurred this past season, what’s occurred in this Super Bowl, then take some time and make a calmer decision" said Manning, and by all accounts he seems to be taking that advice to heart.
