Phaedra Parks is on fire! After a successful run on The Traitors, she signed on to Married to Medicine. And now, since Kandi Burruss has left the building, she snatched back her Real Housewives of Atlanta peach. But this attorney, author, and mortician is all about being busy. So, she quickstepped over to the Dancing with the Stars ballroom for Season 33. Many Real Housewives have competed in the ballroom, but none have graced the finale. But Phaedra is willing to work to make up for what she lacks in dance experience.

Phaedra Parks is in it to win it

During the Season 33 premiere, Phaedra and her partner, Val Chmerkovskiy, scored 19 out of 30 points for their spicy Cha-Cha to Whitney Houston’s hit, I’m Every Woman. The routine even gave a nod to The Traitors, with Phaedra wearing a bedazzled cloak at the start of the dance. The RHOA star showed off her personality and entertained the crowd and judges. And speaking of “judges,” Real Housewives of Orange County star Tamra Judge was cheering on Phaedra.

Naturally, Phaedra wanted to break the housewives’ curse and make it to the finale. However, now she has loftier goals. So, Phaedra decided not to ask her fellow housewives for tips. I do adore a shady Phaedra!

“I didn’t ask them,” Phaedra told People. “Because I want to go in the situation sort of fresh. We had a chat and so they gave me their thoughts about it, but I didn’t really want their tips because I need to win.” She added, “They haven’t won yet.” The Atlanta peach admitted that her training sessions were “intense,” but she was having “a lot of fun.”

Phaedra continued, “I had heard that it is extremely fun, but it’s a lot of hard work. But I’m a super-focused person, so I’m not afraid of hard work, but it’s definitely no less than four hours a day.” She hopes to “win” this season and plans to “continue to improve, do better every time.”

Three former RHOA stars have competed in the ballroom. NeNe Leakes put on her dancing shoes in 2014, and nabbed seventh place. During Season 21, Kim Zolciak finished in eleventh place, while Kenya Moore came in tenth place during Season 30.

Phaedra’s reason for joining DWTS

Phaedra joined DWTS to be a powerful influence on her two sons. “They miss me a lot because I’m a very active mom,” Phaedra said, “but I want to prove to them that I can actually dance and be super cool. So I’m just giving my all, but they’ll be out here in a couple of weeks to watch.” I bet that Phaedra’s sons will be proud of their mom.

Dancing with the Stars airs on Tuesdays at 8/7c on ABC and Disney+.
