Philadelphia Eagles fans get nasty after NFC win
As always with sports, there’s mixed feelings, depending on if your favorite team won or lost the match. The stakes were high this past weekend in the NFL as four teams played for a chance at the biggest game of the year, the Super Bowl.
After trailing for the majority of the game, the New England Patriots narrowly edged out the Jacksonville Jaguars. Quarterback Tom Brady will now compete for a historic sixth Super Bowl ring. But Jags fans cried controversy after losing the game, saying the referees in New England seemed to be on the Patriots’ side.

Good thing Telvin Smith (#50) wasn’t at all held on that game winning play by the Patriots….

Meanwhile in Philadelphia, the Eagles completely crushed the Minnesota Vikings’ dreams of playing in the big game. Philly fans wasted no time in celebrating their team’s victory — in odd and intrusive ways.
They took over the streets of downtown Philadelphia:

They blocked the Vikings players’ bus, then threw trash at it:

They even climbed street poles, a dangerous Philly tradition rooted so deep, police actually tried to prevent the climbers by greasing the poles with Crisco. The officers were given the affectionate nickname Crisco Cops.

Sadly, the Crisco Cops’ efforts were for naught:

While football fans rejoiced, or sulked, after yesterday’s games, celebrities were a bit calmer during the wins and losses at the SAG Awards. Call Me by Your Name actor Timothée Chalamet graciously lost the award for Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor. Instead, Gary Oldman took home the prize for his portrayal of Winston Churchill in Darkest Hour.
While Chalamet merely nodded at losing the award, the internet lit up with angry responses on his behalf.

Twitter again got overly excited over Sterling K. Brown’s historic wins at last night’s awards show. The This Is Us star became the first African-American actor to win the award for Outstanding Male Actor in a Drama Series. The internet was thrilled to see Brown take home the honor.
Clearly, we are not worthy of #SterlingKBrown https://t.co/aPUoB8lWXZ
