Phillip Phillips announces co-headlining summer tour
This summer, Phillip Phillips will embark on a co-headlining national tour alongside Matt Nathanson. As was announced Thursday, the 40-plus date stretch kicks off June 17 in Del Mar, California, with stops across the country in Las Vegas, Cincinnati, and New York, wrapping August 13 in West Allis, Wisconsin. Ticket sales start March 22 at 12 p.m. ET.
Phillips first rose to fame as the 11th season winner of American Idol, and has since released two albums: 2012’s The World From the Side of the Moon and 2014’s Behind the Light. Both records fared well commercially, churning out folk pop hits “Home” and “Raging Fire.” The 25-year-old is currently at work on his third studio LP.
Fellow folk star Matt Nathanson has toured with the likes of Train, Gavin DeGraw, and The Fray. He put out his latest effort, Show Me Your Fangs, last October to high praise.
Also on board the tour are alt pop duo A Great Big World and singer Eric Hutchinson, who will perform as special guests for select shows. See existing dates below, with more stops to be announced soon, according to Nathanson. “There are a handful of dates (in awesome cities!) that we cant announce yet. Those will come in the next month or so,” he tweeted.
