Pink’s Daughter Willow Received a New Nickname After This Musical Moment
Pink recently revealed that her daughter Willow has a unique nickname, and it’s based on a seriously cool musical moment.
On Sept. 21, Pink was at EBMRF’s private Rock4EB event, which is a benefit that funds research for the skin condition epidermolysis bullosa. She performed, alongside You + Me musician Dallas Green and her daughter Willow.

For the 2021 song “Cover Me in Sunshine,” Pink and Willow sang it together on stage, and Pink told the crowd a story about this song.
“During the pandemic, I taught myself to do GarageBand, which, for me, is a really big deal, so please be impressed. And I was doing what I think is a phenomenal take,” she said via People, talking about how she asked her daughter to join in when she was interested. “And she’s like, ‘I like that song.’ I was like, ‘You want to sing on it? Because I could produce you. I know how to do the reverb, even.’ She’s like, ‘Yeah, I’ll sing on it.'”
And y’know what happened? Willow nailed it in one take, giving her the nickname of “One Take Willow.”
Pink added, “So she did one take, and then she went swimming. I was like, ‘Do you want to do one more, just for safety? That’s what people do.’ She’s like, ‘No, bye.'”
(Now, Willow has had the musical bug for years now: singing the hit song with Pink, performing at the DNC, singing for people at the hospital, and even made her official debut at Pink’s Summer Carnival 2023 tour.)
For those who don’t know, Pink and her husband Carey Hart have been together since the early 2000s, marrying in 2006 and welcoming two children named Willow, born on June 2011, and Jameson, born Dec 2016.
“I am completely changed since being a mom,” Pink previously told Today. “I’m much more open, I’m much more accepting of myself, I’m much more thoughtful. I think about the world more, and what we’re leaving for these kids, and the direction we’re headed in. And so I guess it changes your music.”
