Pink at DNC tonight before Kamala Harris speech

Closing out a week of big-name musical stars, global pop star megastar P!nk will get the party started when she headlines the last night of the Democratic National Convention.

She'll be performing ahead of Vice President Kamala Harris when Harris formally accepts the Democratic presidential nomination, a source familiar with the schedule told CNN.

Alecia Moore, who performs as Pink, has long been passionate about LGBTQ+ issues, abortion rights and women's rights for years but this will be the most direct political stand she has taken on a national stage.

Back in 2006 her song "Dear Mr. President" asked then-President George Bush "What kind of father would hate his own daughter if she were gay?" In 2022, she released “Irrelevant" about racism and the fight for women's rights in America. In between she marched for gay rights and talked about LGBTQ+ issues in multiple interviews.

In Florida, she took aim at Gov. DeSantis.

Pink fought back against book bans in Florida

In 2023, at the height of the wave of book challenges and bans in school libraries and classrooms across the country (particularly in the Sunshine State), Pink teamed up with PEN America and handed out 2,000 banned books during two concerts in South Florida.

“Books have held a special joy for me from the time I was a child, and that’s why I am unwilling to stand by and watch while books are banned by schools,” Pink said in a press release.

In a live Instagram post, she said, 'I would say to anyone out there listening, any book you hear is being banned, please run out as fast as you can and get your hands on these books because they're amazing books."

When is Pink performing at the DNC?

The Thursday night speaker schedule has not yet been released, but this article will be updated when it is.

Did Pink cancel her Summer Carnival tour?

Pink temporarily halted her tour when she canceled a show in Bern, Switzerland in July due to an unspecified health issue but she was back in time for the next show in Copenhagen, Denmark.
