Pink, Miley Cyrus and others respond to hilariously mean tweets on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!'
It was that time again for “Mean Tweets” on Jimmy Kimmel Live! — specifically, for Music Edition No. 5. Artists who have been around for a while, like Gwen Stefani, as well as fairly new ones, like Dua Lipa, were subjected to tweets that were in fact really mean. Many were raunchy; others contained animal references, and some had raunchy animal references.
Pink was delighted to read “Pink is aging pretty well for a pig.” She then laughed and made a funny face. Luke Bryan was also compared to an animal — a horse — not in the nicest way, and Halsey’s singing voice was compared to a goat while something presumably very painful is happening to it.
Kimmel even had a couple of blasts from the past, as apparently people are still tweeting about bands years after their heyday. Jonathan Davis of Korn read, “Korn. F*** those guys more than Nickelback.” And Chad Kroeger of Nickelback read one person’s assessment of the group’s music, which involved stabbing oneself in a very sensitive area. Kroeger responded, “That’s funny — that’s how we make Nickelback songs.”
Back to fairly new bands, The Chainsmokers read a tweet from a terrible boss: “One of my employees was talking about how The Chainsmokers are actually pretty good and don’t deserve all the hate. So I fired him.” They genuinely laughed at this.
And even though most people chuckle at the savage tweets, you know that deep down they want to react the way Miley Cyrus did. “Miley Cyrus is a smelly pirate hooker,” Cyrus read before flipping off the camera.
