Like No Udder, the vegan ice cream shop in Providence, will be finding a new space after owner Karen Krinsky learned her lease is not being renewed.

The seasonal shop, which will be back open around Valentine's Day, will remain serving at 170 Ives St., probably through March, Krinsky said in an email.

Scoops of hard ice cream and swirls of soft serve come in a variety of natural flavors and are lactose-free and made with no animal products. Instead of milk, Krinsky uses other base ingredients of coconut milk, cashews or natural peanut butter for hard-serve. She uses soy and oat milk for her soft-serve.

She said community support was swift and plentiful after she announced the lease news on social media over the weekend.

Though she called the news "stressful and causing heartache," she is optimistic about relocating.

"Our goal is to find a new space with a neighborhood environment, perhaps even expanding our menu offerings. Hoping to stay on the East Side but open to the West Side, Pawtucket, East Providence and Warwick," she said.

"We love what we do and plan on being around for a long time. We could not have come this far without the support folks have given us over the past 15 years," she said.

She and her husband, Chris Belanger, started the business with a food truck before opening the brick-and-mortar location in 2016.

"We have been overwhelmed from the kindness shown by the community," she said.
