Get ready to vogue some more, because “Pose” has been renewed for a third season at FX, the cable network said Monday.
The Season 3 pickup comes just under a week after the Ryan Murphy-created drama aired its second season premiere on June 11, the series’ most-watched episode to date. The Season 2 premiere telecast scored 1.2 million total viewers and 572,000 in the adults 18-49 range. The episode outperformed the “Pose” series premiere by 10% in the key 18-49 demo and 7% in overall eyeballs.
The Season 2 opener, titled “Acting Up,” has racked up 1.8 million viewers in the five days since it first aired, when counting the initial 10 p.m. Tuesday telecast, plus two encores and streaming.

“Pose” is a drama spotlighting the legends, icons and ferocious house mothers of New York’s underground ball culture, a movement that first gained notice in the late 1980s. Season 2 flashes forward in time to 1990. On the heels of the ballroom community establishing itself in pop culture and going mainstream, the House of Evangelista is forced to reevaluate their goals. Meanwhile, the AIDS crisis worsens and the reaction from a group of activists reaches a fever pitch.
