Post Malone hospitalized, cancels show after having breathing difficulties and 'stabbing pain' days after concert fall
Post Malone says he's been hospitalized after experiencing breathing issues and a "stabbing pain" a week after falling into a hole on-stage while performing in St. Lous on Sept. 17. In an apologetic note posted to social media, the rapper (real name: Austin Post) told fans that his injuries would force him to cancel Saturday night's show in Boston.
"On tour, I usually wake up around 4 o'clock PM, and today I woke up to a cracking [sound] on the right side of my body," the 27-year-old Texan told fans Saturday. "I felt so good last night, but today it felt so different than it has before. I'm having a very difficult time breathing, and there's like a stabbing pain whenever I breathe or move.
"We're in the hospital now, but with this pain, I can't do the show tonight," he added. "I'm so f***ing sorry."
The post was met with a flood of comments from fans wishing the musician a speedy recovery.
The "Sunflower" star is currently on his "Twelve Carat Toothache" tour. After falling during the St. Louis leg of the tour earlier this month, he shared a video in which he thanked fans for "putting up with my dumb ass." He also explained that he'd fallen into a "big-ass hole" created when the guitars for his set are lowered for the acoustic portion of his show.
"I go down there and turn the corner and bust my ass," he said the next day. 'Winded me pretty good, got me pretty good."
In that Sept. 18 post he noted that he'd gone to the hospital, where he'd received pain medication.
The Grammy nominee also posted a shot of himself flipping off the hole that did him in.
Post Malone hasn't shared any more updates about his health since canceling his Sept. 24 show in Boston. According to his tour site, he's next due to perform on Sept. 27 in Cleveland.
