Powers Pleasant And Joey Badass Are Ready To “Rumble” In Fiery New Music Video
Powers Pleasant and Joey Bada$$ have linked up once again to bring the heat. Their new single “Rumble,” accompanied with a music video, is out now.
The single is packed with triumphant horns and abrasive energy. “Move out my way, before this get violent!/ Get the f**k out my face, you don’t want these problems!” is an easily memorable hook and the visual accompanies the conviction in the chorus. There is the constant presence of a flamethrower, Bada$$ standing atop a vehicle, and a crowd of beautiful women dancing along to the anthem.
The duo gave VIBE an exclusive behind-the-scenes look at how the “Rumble” video was put together; Denzel Curry was also on set and appeared in the footage. Check out the BTS video and some photos below.
“Rumble” marks Powers Pleasant’s first release since his 2022 single “Overseas” which featured Maxo Kream, Bas, Kenny Mason, and Erick The Architect. As for Joey Bada$$, he dropped off the single “Passports & Suitcases” featuring KayCyy this past January.
The Pro Era duo recently spoke with REVOLT and explained that there is much more music to come beyond “Rumble” when they release their forthcoming albums. “There’s nothing as high energy as ‘Rumble’ [on my album],” Joey said. “It’s more conceptual and chill. It’s cool that ‘Rumble’ is coming out and I’m able to give people a different flavor than what I’m about to start rolling out.”
Pleasant, known for bringing talented rappers together for posse cuts like the aforementioned “Overseas,” is looking to shed that skin on his upcoming effort. “I know I came into the game as the ‘posse cut guy’ who was throwing all these crazy features together on songs with all these artists. But this album is more focused on making the best song,” he said. “So, it’s not a ton of features on every song. It’s my most experimental album I’ve dropped.”
