President Trump is a regifter, according to son Donald Jr.
Extra TV caught up with Donald Trump Jr. and his girlfriend, Kimberly Guilfoyle, at the Daily Mail’s annual holiday party this week. The first son revealed what the holidays are like with his father, President Trump.
“If you think my father’s funny on TV, you should see him around a holiday table when everyone’s vying for the food,” Trump Jr. said.
And after Guilfoyle suggested that sitting at the holiday table with Trump is better than the president’s famous Twitter feed, his son added, “Actually, at times, yes. If I could put those comments sometimes on Twitter, it’d be a wonderful thing.”
When it comes to gift giving, Trump Jr. admitted that being the namesake of his father has resulted in some not-so-thoughtful presents over the years.
“I got regifted all of the things that were monogrammed for him at times,” Trump Jr. said. “There was one Christmas where he may or may not have given me the gift that I had given him the year before, because I monogrammed it.”
Trump Jr. said that he and Guilfoyle, a former Fox News personality, will join President Trump and other family members at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach, Fla., for Christmas. And while some of the family traditions of Trump Jr.’s childhood, like visiting his grandparents in Queens, are no longer viable, he said he’s really just hoping to get in some quality time with his father.
“We don’t have what we used to have when we saw my father every day, go upstairs and he’s in his office,” Trump Jr. said. “Now, even if we’re in D.C., it’s like ‘I’d love to swing in.’ And then something around the world is going on that he has to pay attention to. So I’m just looking forward to getting him one-on-one and hanging out. And watching the grandkids do the same.”
