Prince Harry and Meghan Markle subtly demoted on Buckingham Palace website
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have been subtly demoted on Buckingham Palace’s official website.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex awoke on Tuesday to their profiles sitting all the way at the bottom of the royal webpage that lists all of the members of the royal family.
The pair stepped down as senior working members of the Firm in 2020, and subsequently hightailed it across the pond in search of privacy.
Since then, they’ve only returned to Harry’s native soil a handful of times.
Prior to Tuesday’s digital shake-up, Harry, 39, and the “Suits” alum, 42, were featured on the royal website each boasting a 2,000-word profile on their respective summaries.
Now, the duo’s bios are placed beneath 12 other members of the royal family, including scandal-scarred Prince Andrew, whose profile sits adjacent to the Sussexes.
Harry and Meghan’s short bio explains their decision to quit royal duties.
“As announced in January 2020, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have stepped back as working members of The Royal Family,” the statement reads.
“The couple married in St George’s Chapel, Windsor on 19 May 2018 and have two children: Prince Archie of Sussex and Princess Lilibet of Sussex.”
The Post has reached out to Buckingham Palace for comment.
The Sussexes, for their part, launched a brand-new website in February — but their digital revamp was hit with major backlash after the pair used their royal titles on the site — despite quitting the Firm almost four years ago.
Still, Markle made sure to let readers know that she’s a “fan” of her new website.
“There is a reason I have worked with Ryan and the talented team at Article for a decade: their attention to detail, their creativity and care, and the thoughtful approach to design as well as to the user experience,” the former actress said in an endorsement on Article’s website.
“They’re not just designers; they are collaborators who elevate your ideas into visual identities. They’re a very special company. Plus they’re Canadian, so I’m a fan.”
The foundation’s website has also gotten a face-lift, to coordinate with the new hub’s dark navy and beige theme.
Additionally, the Sussex.com site offers a news tab that summarizes the pair’s achievements.
More recently, Markle has teased her latest business venture, her lifestyle brand named American Riviera Orchard.
The change to the Buckingham Palace website comes amid ongoing speculation about Kate Middleton’s well-being after her planned abdominal surgery in January. Conspiracy theories about her whereabouts only heightened when she released a UK Mother’s Day photo that was heavily edited and ultimately taken down by top photo agencies.
“Like many amateur photographers, I do occasionally experiment with editing. I wanted to express my apologies for any confusion the family photograph we shared yesterday caused,” Middleton, 42, wrote, in an apology amid the backlash.
“I hope everyone celebrating had a very happy Mother’s Day.”
Despite the drama, the future queen was spotted all smiles in her first sighting at a farm shop with Prince William, which they visited over the weekend. The video was released by TMZ on Monday.
An onlooker said she appeared “happy, healthy and relaxed” during the outing.
