Prince Harry Reportedly 'Does Not Want His Royal Life Back' but He's Looking for Something More
Prince Harry’s trip to New York City showed off the best of what he can do — he’s an eloquent speaker who loves to support causes close to his heart, and still have a bit of fun as he did on The Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon. Still, there’s been a narrative lurking in the background that he’s somehow unhappy with his new life and California and wants to return to his royal role.
Well, The Times is setting the record straight by letting people know that Harry is sticking with his U.S. plan, but there is something he wants to course correct. The U.K. outlet spoke with a source who confirmed that “Harry does not want his old royal life back: he adores the California sunshine and treasures his wife and family” and his recent work with the Clinton Global Initiative and the Concordia Summit gives him purpose and a way to carry on his mother’s passion for acts of service. The Times believes he’s ready to “recover his reputation” after four years of turmoil with the royal family.

To prove how much he relished in this role, Vanity Fair noted that “in under 72 hours, he packed in at least seven events with a handful of his charities, some of which have counted him as a patron for more than a decade.” He was “prepared” with well-written speeches with “subjects ranging from youth empowerment to minefields and conflict to the climate impacts of travel to the ongoing HIV/AIDS crisis in Southern Africa at the drop of the hat.” Prince Harry has the gift of public speaking, and he has to find a way out of the tabloid headlines and into the role he was born to play.
The U.S. outlet praised the Duke of Sussex for “coming as a representative of himself—and his ideas” which “reveal a direct point of view now, formed both by his years in the royal family, the research he’s done, and the experiences he’s had outside of it.” While Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are a power couple, it might be time for Harry to shine on his own for a while. The Duchess of Sussex is busy launching her American Riviera Orchard brand, so it’s the perfect opportunity for him to be leaning into his own career.
It’s almost as if Princess Diana is guiding Prince Harry’s next chapter, and it’s a wonderful way to honor his late mother. “Harry is devoted to upholding his mother’s legacy – as it’s the one thing that keeps her memory alive for him,” a source told The Mirror US. “Harry sees himself in his mother so much, they are almost like spirit twins in their nature and their approach to things.” Harry has that natural gift for philanthropy and it’s time he leans all the way into it.
