Prince William’s dance to ‘Shake It Off’
Prince William attended the Eras Tour on June 21, night one of Swift’s run at Wembley Stadium, with two of three children in tow. He was ready to have a good time and celebrate his birthday and didn’t care who was watching. Videos of him dancing to Swift’s 2014 hit, “Shake It Off,” circulated quickly on social media, thanks to his dad-like style and shimmying motion, and the moves can’t be missed.
William’s dance in his suite was lighthearted and humorous, and perfectly encapsulated the nature of being at one of Swift’s concerts. To the left of him, spectators could see Charlotte dancing along and enjoying the performance as well. The viral video, which was posted to X (formerly Twitter), received tons of positive comments and people couldn’t help but note that this wasn’t the first time the future monarch broke out his moves. One commenter wrote, “Prince William dancing to "Shake It Off" was absolutely priceless! I'm still laughing!”

The royals had a sweet moment with Taylor Swift
After the show William, George and Charlotte had a fun moment with Swift backstage. They posed for photos and shared enjoyment for Swift’s performance.
Two different photos were taken and posted to social media. One was a selfie with William, George, Charlotte and Swift posted to the Prince and Princess of Wales' official Instagram account. The caption reads: "Thank you @taylorswift for a great evening! #LondonTSTheErastour.”
The second photo included the royal family, Swift and her boyfriend Travis Kelce with the caption, “Happy Bday M8! London shows are off to a splendid start.” She used the British and American flag emojis as well as the shaking hands. This was also the first time she and Kelce have appeared on her social media together.
This wasn’t the first time that the Prince of Wales and Swift crossed paths.
More than a decade ago, the two got on stage together at a Kensington Palace charity event in London and broke out in a Bon Jovi hit. You can watch the clip here:
The Royal Guard welcomed Taylor Swift to London
Before her shows at Wembley Stadium, Swift got a full welcome from the Royal Guard as they also played “Shake It Off.” The royal family posted a video of the band with, “Can’t stop, won’t stop groovin,’” as the caption.
In the video, viewers could hear the song start at the beginning of the second verse and go into the chorus. The band was set up in a half-circle formation while playing various instruments including the flute and the trumpet. People outside the palace grounds could also hear the music, and it was a great way to bring the hype to the concert.
