Prince William, Kate Middleton have asked Harry and Meghan Markle to bring their children to visit: expert
Prince William and Kate Middleton have reportedly asked Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to bring their children with them the next time they visit the UK, according to a royal expert.
The Prince and Princess of Wales have had a years-long rift with the Sussexes, but it seems as though the pair may be looking to bury the hatchet once and for all.
And according to royal author Tom Quinn, Princess Kate was all for the idea of seeing Archie and Lilibet in England, but the Duchess of Sussex passed up on the offer.
“There is no way Meghan would bring the children to the UK,” Quinn told the Mirror.
“William and Kate have suggested that Meghan and Harry bring the children and that the two couples and their families try to make up, but the suggestion is not leading anywhere so far.”
The last time both Archie and Lilibet visited the UK was during the late Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in June 2022.
Markle, for her part, last returned to England for the Queen’s funeral service in September that year.
Sources, however, deny the new report. The Post has reached out to Kensington Palace for comment.
The pair did not bring their children with them over safety concerns, as the Sussexes were stripped of taxpayer-funded UK security protection.
This means the pair will have to pay out of pocket for their security when visiting Harry’s home soil.
Still, it seems as though Harry and his wife are not shying away from offering help to the royal family during a time of great distress, and a reconciliation is “100% possible,” according to a royal expert.
Harry and Meghan are said to be hoping for a temporary return to the UK’s royal fold, and have reportedly reached out to William and Kate to make it happen.
“A reconciliation with Harry and Meghan is totally possible, 100%,” King Charles’ former butler Grant Harrold exclusively told The Post.
“I can believe, without any doubt, that Harry will be in touch with Kate and William and offering his help — whether they accept it or not is a very different matter, but I honestly believe Harry would have reached out personally and Meghan.”
“Sadly, it’s times like this that brings families together and blood is thicker than water,” added Harrold.
The Post revealed in February that Charles had been toying with the idea of having Harry back on a temporary basis, despite the duke being kept at arm’s length from ongoing succession talks.
Following the Princess of Wales’ surprise cancer announcement this month, Harry and Meghan said they hope for privacy for Middleton as she undergoes treatment.
“We wish health and healing for Kate and the family, and hope they are able to do so privately and in peace,” the pair said in a statement.
It’s understood that the duo, who quit royal life in 2020 and hightailed it across the pond to Montecito, Calif., made contact with the Prince and Princess of Wales “privately” following Middleton’s announcement.
