Prince William Offers Update on Kate Middleton During Solo Trip
Kate Middleton and Prince William
Prince William may be attending to his royal duties without Kate Middleton by his side, but he certainly won't let that stop him from updating fans on his wife's health.
Princess Kate is currently receiving "preventative" chemotherapy treatment to battle an undisclosed type of cancer and hasn't taken part in any royal events since December 2023.
After some time off with his family, the Prince of Wales returned to making public engagements just a few weeks ago, and he's been vocal about honoring his wife and thanking royal watchers for the love and support they've shared ever since.
This includes a trip he made on Friday, May 10, during which the 41-year-old royal offered a rare update on the Princess of Wales' condition while visiting St Mary’s Community Hospital on the Isles of Scilly, an archipelago off the Cornish coast.
"She’s doing very well," William told reporters when asked how his wife was doing. "Thank you."

He went on, sharing a joke about the three kids–Prince George, 10, Princess Charlotte, 9, and Prince Louis, 6–he and Kate share, "The children are very jealous that I’m here and they’re not here as well."
A day prior, the prince stopped at Fistral Beach, where he was warmly welcomed by the crowds and fielded comments about the status of the princess. "God save the King and best wishes to Kate," one bystander could be heard saying in a BBC clip.
William's continued return to the public spotlight is a clear sign that the royals are ready to return to some sense of normalcy following not one but two recent cancer diagnoses in the family. Shortly before his wife revealed her cancer diagnosis, his father King Charles III opened up about his own battle with the disease.
