Prince William Reveals How Son George Is Taking After Both Him and Prince Harry

During the latest garden party at Buckingham Palace, where Prince William reunited with his cousin Princess Beatrice, the future monarch made a surprising revelation amid the royal rift that his eldest son, Prince George, seems to be following in the footsteps of both his father and his uncle, Prince Harry.

While the king-to-be chatted with Squadron Leader Chrissie Lacey, a chaplain in the Royal Air Force, he shared that he plans to take the 10-year-old to the base soon for a visit, as he's shown interest in becoming a pilot one day—just like William and his brother.

While making friendly conversation with the chaplain, who is known around base for waking up incredibly early to bake for everybody, she handed him a bag of cookies that she'd made fresh that morning.

“I promise you that wasn’t a fishing expedition," he joked, "but I will take them all the same, this is amazing.”

He then told her that his son was hoping to visit sometime soon, calling him a "potential pilot in the making,” according to PA Court Correspondent Tony Jones.

Though Prince Harry is the only brother who served in the Army Air Corps during active combat, it was to Prince William that King Charles recently transferred his more than 30-year-old title of Colonel-in-Chief of the Army Air Corps, despite having only served as a search and rescue and air ambulance pilot as heir to throne.

Naturally, many viewed it as a snub to the younger royal, though he was no longer eligible for the honor since he stepped back as a senior royal several years ago.
