Prince William's Pre-Birthday Plans Revealed Amid Kate Middleton's Cancer Battle
As Prince William approaches his 42nd birthday later this month, Kensington Palace confirmed his plans for the day before, with the royal expected in Frankfurt, Germany on June 20.
The 41-year-old will reportedly attend the football match between England and Denmark held at Frankfurt Arena as part of the Euro 2024 tournament.
William is the president of the Football Association (FA) and has held the position since 2006, and he often attends events in support of the association. He previously met with the England team ahead of their travel to Germany, cheering them on and presenting the team with shirts.
William also shared some advice for the players from his son Prince Louis, noting that he said they should "eat twice the amount you normally would eat." He then joked that they should "maybe take my youngest's advice with a pinch of salt."
While there is no official association between the football match and William's birthday, the event will take place the day before June 21, when he turns 42.
His family is not expected to attend the trip with him, so they will likely celebrate the event together either before or after. Currently, William's wife Princess Kate is still undergoing preventative chemotherapy after being diagnosed with cancer, while the couple's three children, Louis, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, will reportedly be in school.
William has been very busy since returning to his royal duties following Kate's health announcement, with the prince recently gaining praise for his recent appearance alongside his father, King Charles, and Queen Camilla, at an event marking the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings on the beaches of Normandy during World War II.
Along with Kate, Charles is also undergoing cancer treatment, and the monarch announced his health condition in February after a scheduled health procedure.
