'Property Brothers' star Drew Scott and wife Linda Phan welcome 2nd child
“Property Brothers” star Drew Scott and his wife, Linda Phan, have welcomed their second child, a daughter the couple named Piper Rae.
Scott announced the news June 5 on Instagram alongside images of their newborn daughter's hand and foot, surrounded by what appears to be the hands of her family members.
"Our family of 3 has become 4! Piper Rae, I love you with all my heart," Scott wrote in the post, which was also shared by the official Instagram page for the couple's YouTube channel, "At Home with Linda & Drew."
Scott and Phan, who are already parents to a 2-year-old son named Parker, announced they were expecting again in January 2024 when Scott shared an image on Instagram of Parker touching his mom's baby bump.
“Round 2. I hope Parker’s ready for a lil company,” he captioned the pic, adding baby face and heart emoji.
Phan also shared the image as the second shot in an Instagram carousel she paired with the low-key caption, "lately-ish."
In April 2022, the couple, who welcomed Parker via IVF, opened up in a joint blog post about struggling with infertility.
“It’s still kind of blurry, how we got from there to here. It felt like a time warp, every month like ‘Groundhog Day,’ but you keep going through the motions — the doctor appointments, the medications, the tests, the blood work, the pep talks — hoping for the best,” Phan and Scott wrote. “And then 'bam!'”
This couple's journey to parenthood the second time around unfolded differently.
Scott and Phan had just begun discussing seeing their fertility endocrinologist again when Linda suddenly started to feel “super bloated," Scott told TODAY.com in a story published this month.
“She did four pregnancy tests and they were all positive. So we checked in (with the doctor), and she was over three months pregnant,” said Scott.
Hearing that Phan was expecting a child without going through the IVF process was a “mind-blowing” discovery.
“Any signs that could potentially be a ‘you’re pregnant’ sign, you just throw out the window, because you’ve been told that’s not possible ... I mean, it’s actually kind of amazing,” he added.
Scott also told TODAY.com that he and his wife, who tied the knot in 2018, opted not to know their baby's sex ahead of time, explaining that they wanted to keep their "sense of wonder and curiosity" until the baby's arrival.
Besides, the couple never had any intention of matching their baby's nursery and clothes to her sex.
“Linda and I are not traditionalists where we’re like, ‘Parker has to dress in blue, and if we have a girl, they have to dress in pink,’” explained Scott.
“Parker wears every color under the rainbow. And in fact, when I was a kid, it was the same (with me). We were twins, but Jonathan got blue for everything. I got every other color,” he said, referring to his twin and “Property Brothers” co-star, Jonathan Scott.
