Pumpkin Donut Latte and more fall drinks to try at Jersey Shore cafes and restaurants
Store shelves are creepily crammed with Halloween decorations, farms are selling pumpkins, and that crisp autumn scent is in the air.
Pumpkin spice season is here, but you don't need to wait in those massive lines at the Starbucks counter.
And you don't need to only get pumpkin spice. Sometimes, pumpkin spice can be topped with snickerdoodle cookies. Sometimes, it could be made in a cold brew.
And sometimes, that fall drink order doesn't have to be pumpkin spice.
Check out these local cafes and restaurants that are serving up something spooky in your cup this fall.
Coffee Corral, Red Bank and Long Branch
This hip yet cozy coffee nook has way more than just pumpkin spice this year — and they're all vegan.
Try the Autumn Spice Matcha (matcha, Madagascar vanilla, cinnamon, nutmeg, cardamom and oat milk) for a refreshing taste, but if you want something truly magical, try the Witch's Brew (purple sweet potato extract, truffle brown butter, sage, cardamom, oat milk and espresso).
For a more familiar vibe, try the Autumn Brew (seasonal cold brew with a blend of seasonal spices, vanilla extract and medium roast Sulawesi). And if you're truly feeling classic, the pumpkin spice latte is made with pumpkin puree, vanilla extract, seasonal spices, almond milk or espresso (swap out the espresso with Chai for a remix).

How You Brewin Coffee Company, Surf City
How you doin'? Well, we're doing real good now that it's pumpkin spice season at How You Brewin.
Try the classic pumpkin spice latte or pumpkin spice-flavored coffee, but if you're feeling a little freaky, try the return-favorite Jazzy Jack-o-Lantern cold brew, made with spiced pumpkin and cinnamon-flavored coffee beans.
For October, the flavored coffee of the month is Apple Cider Donut.

Pumpkin spice everything! Why pumpkin spice mania starts earlier and earlier every year at Jersey Shore
The Local Market & Kitchen, Ship Bottom
Whether you want a sweet treat or to get your pumpkin spice fix, The Local's got you covered.
The pumpkin spice latte comes piled high with whipped cream and snickerdoodle cookies, but if that doesn't appease your sweet tooth, the bakery has plenty of fresh pastries like homemade pop tarts, cookies and more.
For something more casual without toppings, but just as sweet, try the Pumpkin Pie Chai Latte. In October, the cafe will be serving hot and cold apple cider, and a Maple Sage latte.
They'll also be serving seasonal pop tarts and sandwich cookies starting soon, so stay tuned!

MorningStar Cafe, Toms River
This spot opened in June with worldly bites like Shakshuka (three eggs poached in a lightly spiced tomato sauce, avocado and warm pita), hand-crafted specialty drinks and imported teas.
Grab a seat at the coffee bar, a live-edge counter built with a local black walnut tree that fell right in Toms River, for a truly relaxed vibe.
While the cafe always serves mystically-named coffee drinks, like the Aphrodite's Love Potion (a single shot of espresso with steamed milk and Madagascar vanilla bean), and Hot as Hades Red Eye (with imported chocolate, single shot of espresso, coffee and ancho chile), they're also serving a classic pumpkin spice chai latte.
Also try the s'mores latte (hot or iced), with chocolate, espresso, steamed milk, toasted marshmallow foam and graham cracker crumble.
Go: 1001 Fischer Blvd. Suite 5, Toms River; 732-232-0558, morningstarcafenj.com.

Rook Coffee, Multiple Locations
Rook Coffee is keeping it simple and classic, like they do every year.
Stop by to try hot pumpkin-style coffee or pumpkin-style cold brew, which is also sold in cold brew bottles and 100-ounce boxes at rookcoffee.com.
Also try the blueberry-pie style — because who doesn't like a warm pie in the fall?

Taylor Sam's, Brick
Whether you want to try one of the best Taylor Ham (don't blame us, it's in the name), egg and cheese sandwiches you've ever had, or an invigorating craft coffee drink, stop by Taylor Sam's.
This fall, the restaurant will be offering two specialty brews.
For something cozy and relaxing, try the Fall Fog Apple Chai (homemade apple cider infused with spiced Chai, steamed milk, foam, sweet caramel drizzle and a cinnamon stick).
And for something a little sweeter: the Pumpkin Donut Latte (homemade pumpkin spice syrup, steamed milk and espresso), which comes topped with a pumpkin donut, whipped cream, caramel and cinnamon.
Go: 1643 Route 88, Brick; 732-458-7267, taylorsams.com.
