Queen Camilla Favors Summertime Florals in Two Fiona Clare Looks and Wears Brooch From Queen Elizabeth II’s Collection During a Visit to Scotland
Queen Camilla joined members of the British royal family for a trip to Edinburgh, Scotland, to commemorate Holyrood Week, or Royal Week, and celebrate Scottish culture on Tuesday. For the occasion, the queen consort fashioned two looks from one of her go-to designers and accessorized with a sentimental brooch from Queen Elizabeth II’s collection.
For the celebration of individuals who promote Scottish Literacy at the Palace of Holyroodhouse, Queen Camilla wore a white dress with a vibrant floral design courtesy of Fiona Clare. The long-sleeve midi dress featured a soft, white fabric base with patterns of colorful flowers in shades of blue and pink — ideal for the summer season.

The queen consort also joined members of the British royal family for the Sovereign’s Garden Party held at the Palace of Holyroodhouse on Tuesday. At the event, Camilla embraced a shade of sky blue for a monochrome look.
The royal wore another midi dress by Fiona Clare, which featured long sleeves and an ornate floral design on the collar, front placket and cuffs of the sleeves of the dress.
The Queen consort wore the same pair of black-and-white heels by Chanel and completed the look with a wide-brim hat by Philip Treacy, which included a floral embellishment to continue the flower motif Queen Camilla fashioned with both looks during the day.
Queen Camilla selected a brooch from Queen Elizabeth II’s collection to add to her accessories for the Sovereign’s Garden Party. The queen consort wore Queen Mary’s Diamond Thistle Brooch prominently on her dress. The brooch originally belonged to King Charles’ great-grandmother, Queen Mary. Queen Elizabeth II later inherited the brooch.
Coincidentally, Queen Elizabeth II wore the brooch during her own visit to Edinburgh in June 2019, when she attended the 20th anniversary celebrations of the Scottish Parliament.
Queen Camilla often pays homage to the late Queen Elizabeth II, who died in September 2022, by way of her accessories. In the past, the queen consort has worn tiaras, brooches and necklaces that once belonged to the long-reigning monarch.
On such an occasion as a royal visit to Edinburgh, it’s not a surprise Queen Camilla would marry a sentimental accessory with her own sartorial sensibility. Fashioning looks by Fiona Clare, both of which featured summertime florals, was ideal for the occasion. The addition of Queen Mary’s Diamond Thistle Brooch added a sentimental element to the queen consort’s refined garden party attire.
