Queens of the Stone Age cancels remaining 2024 tour dates, including stop in Chicago
CHICAGO — Queens of the Stone Age has canceled all remaining 2024 dates for its “The End of the Nero World Tour” as its founding member battles health issues.
Performing overseas last month, lead singer Josh Homme had to return to the United States to undergo “emergency surgery.” The band has not performed since. Homme, who founded the band in 1996, remains its only continuous member.

“QOTSA regrets to announce the cancellation and/or postponement of all remaining 2024 shows. Josh has been given no choice but to prioritize his health and receive essential medical care through the remainder of the year,” read a statement posted by the band on X, formerly Twitter.
The band’s Oct. 2 show at the Huntington Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island will occur sometime in 2025. Organizers offered no rescheduled date but noted that all tickets purchased will be honored.
