Quincy Brown Shares Statement In Support Of Diddy Amid Arrest: “WE MISS YOU & LOVE YOU DAD”
Quincy Brown has issued a statement of support for Sean “Diddy” Combs, his adoptive father, who is currently behind bars on multiple heinous charges.
“The past month has devastated our family. Many have judged both him and us based on accusations, conspiracy theories, and false narratives that have spiraled into absurdity on social media,” Brown, 33, began the Instagram post, featuring a family photo of the Combs clan. “We stand united, supporting you every step of the way. We hold onto the truth, knowing it will prevail, and nothing will break the strength of our family. WE MISS YOU & LOVE YOU DAD.”
Brown’s statement follows another from him — as well as siblings Christian Combs and twins D’Lila and Jessie Combs — released after an unauthenticated “memoir” allegedly written by their late mother, Kim Porter, became a best-seller on Amazon before its removal.
“Claims that our mom wrote a book are simply untrue. She did not. And anyone claiming to have a manuscript is misrepresenting themselves,” their statement read. “Please understand that any so-called ‘friend’ speaking on behalf of our mom or her family is not a friend, nor do they have her best interests at heart.”
They also addressed Quincy’s birth father, Al B. Sure!’s, request for Porter’s death to be investigated further following Diddy’s arrest, as the singer implied Combs and others acting on his authority may have played a part in her passing due to her alleged plans to expose the mogul. Porter’s children, however, disagree.
“While it has been incredibly difficult to reconcile how she could be taken from us too soon, the cause of her death has long been established,” they wrote. “There was no foul play.”
Quincy and his biological father have had a strained relationship over the years, with Quincy writing a letter to the “Nite & Day” singer in 2009 asking why he was “absent” from his life as a child. Today, Q and Al B. Sure!, born Albert Joseph Brown III, are on better terms, the young man recently explained on Angela Yee’s Lip Service.
“I think we got a cool relationship, right? He tends to, like, try and do, like, the ‘dad thing’ a lot. But it’s like that’s not really where we’re at in life. Like, we homies more than anything,” he said. “We’re like, let’s go do something, you know what I mean? And I feel like that’s kind of where we’re getting at now is actually knowing that we two grown men. You know what I mean? We can talk about anything and everything. It’s not about anything else.”
