Quiver Acquires Comedy ‘The Problem With People’ Starring Paul Reiser & Colm Meaney
EXCLUSIVE: Quiver Distribution has acquired North American rights to The Problem with People, a comedy co-written, produced by and starring Paul Reiser (Stranger Things). Also starring Colm Meaney (Star Trek: Deep Space Nine), Jane Levy (Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist) and Lucianne McEvoy (Red Eye), the film will be released in theaters on October 4th.
World premiering at last year’s Austin Film Festival, the film directed by Chris Cottam (A Christmas Number One) follows two distant cousins who’ve never met — one in NYC, the other in the smallest town there is in Ireland — who come together to finally put an end to a generations-long family feud… It doesn’t go well.

Reiser wrote the script with Wally Marzano-Lesnevich and produced alongside Max Brady and Cottam.
Said Reiser in a statement to Deadline, “This is the film I’ve wanted to make for years, and I am so proud of how it’s turned out. And to help put it out into the world, I couldn’t ask to be in more capable hands than the most excellent team at Quiver.”
Added Quiver Distribution Co-Presidents Berry Meyerowitz and Jeff Sackman, “We are thrilled to be partnering with the brilliant Chris Cottam and Paul Reiser to bring this wonderful comedy about family dynamics and human nature to audiences across North America. We’ve all been fans of Paul’s work as an actor, writer and stand-up comedian, and we’re honored to be working with him on The Problem With People.”
Larry Greenberg negotiated the deal on behalf of Quiver Distribution with Gersh negotiating on behalf of the filmmakers.
